hardest work I ever done - climb mountains. This one was pretty steep too. Away off to the north we could see another and larger range of mountains while to the south lay Camp Cody which didn't look very big at that distance - 15 miles. We came back to camp Tuesday morning and were all glad to come. Out there we didn't have enough water to wash in only once a day. Night before last the whole company was on guard. I was on Divisional guard as were the most of the fellows. Some however were on Brigade guard. We guarded the warehouses. Oh but it was cold that night. This is the darnest climate I ever saw. In the daytime you sweat your head off but at night you cant put on enough clothes
