you start to get my letters they will come in bundles the same as mine come from you. they are paying me the full amount, and i have seacured two months wages since i have been here. i haven't sent any home yet as i brought a few things i need and everything is (illegible) high and i thought i had better hold a little in reserve as if we shouldnt get paid for a while. (illegible) have a little. i was out in a little grave yard this morning and you will have to give it to the French they know how to (illegible) their graveyards up. prettiest i ever saw. several americans are buried there and i wish their folks could see what a pretty place they are laid to rest. poor little france she has the gut detirmination and after all we are only paying our debt to her. i am fully determined that to do my full duty come what may and somehow an other i feel that i am going to come back safe and sound, but if i dont what better death could a man ask for than to fall for the cause we are fighting for but dont worry i am comeing back and i sure have (illegible) lucky in getting in the CO. i did it is the best in the regiment if not in the divisision. we can get the american tabbaco now and oh joy a little candy.
