Dec. 12 1918 Bonnet France My Dear Mother Well I received your letter tonight saying you were sick. Oh dear mother don't let anything happen to you for it looks now as if we might be home sometime in the not far distant future. and it would take all the joy out of the home comeing if you should be sick I sent you ten dollars for a Xmas present. I sent it thru the Y.M.C.A. and the receipt No. is 152413 let me know as soon as you get it. and from now on I am going to send some home each month and I want you to hire a girl even if you have to go in debt. and I'll try to make it up when I get home. I would have sent money before
