4 a handken for B.J. - a big jigsaw puzzle for George - and for Grace - the etching - 6 jello & a pressed wood oval shallow dish - looked something like the two you brought from Switzerland only pressed instead of carved and no holes in it - I got our N the same order for Dorothy Parden & will fill this later with cookies - knowing Dorothy - Mailed Gertrude's box Friday - sent her an (illegible) sheet & (jour?) - Peg & Anne each bath salts & little toilet case with nail polish, dusting powder etc. Packed your box 25 - It has in it the four cans of stuff Gretchen got for you - I wrapped them so you would know which they were. Your nightie is also in there. Sat I made "washboard" cookies & 1 recipe of fudge - listened to the opera as I crocheted like mad. Had planned to walk over to Grace Allen's with magazines as it began to get dark but my 1st grocery delivery since the middle of last winter hadn't come yet - I phoned about it & they said I'd be lucky if he showed up out here by 9. He did come at 7 but the walking was bad so I didn't think I could make it and be back & in bed by basketball time so I didn't go - Now with waist high drifts I may have to read her the last of the Leslie Ford story over the phone. Haven't done a lick on Christmas cards - letter yet except Hattie & Elva and the cards that went with the boxes. It's 10:30 and I'll quit and read a half hour - good night - Merry Christmas & Much Love Mother Betty W happened to say today that they were going to Schramms for dinner Friday so I asked her how she'd like to deliver our gifts there for us - She was more than willing - said she'd drop the Mallett things at their place too while they had the car over that way - I'll take her up on it for last year I had to get a taxi for that trip - That leaves only the Pardens that I can't get to on foot - I think I can give Gretchen hers when she comes here with eggs next time.
