Seems so good to be driving the car again - I used it yesterday - mailed your box, then worked from 11 to 5 at the Board - got a lot done. Came home and flopped on the davenport during the news broadcast - got my supper - Grace Allen came over for a half hour or so - brought me a needle threader that will be fine for embroidering threads. All my spare time for several days now has been spent scratching that old paper off the one wall in your room. I decided to freshen up the paint on the 3 walls so thought I'd make them all alike for a change - Will use the same color so nothing new or very pretty can be bought now. I sprayed hot water on with the vacuum cleaner - used a wire brush - then my old stand-by - a parening knife. I was digging away when Gretchen came for tea about 2:30 - Was glad to stop as the back of my neck was tired - these darn bifocals. She brought their application for B gas and you should have seen us trying to figure what to apply for - We finally found the missing decimal made it 80.2 gal instead of 802 gals. I went over to Brody's at noon to get bread - milk and lettuce. Then I took Gretchen over to collate the 5 oclock interurban - I went to Sears and got the package that had been sent to the store instead of here. I can't wear either pair of shoes so will have to send them back - such a pest. I just hate to try to buy anything to wear. Why can't I go "nud"? (I know why) When I got home I mounted the ladder and finished the scratching. It is raining - I think I'll start painting tomorrow if all goes well. - Now I am going to stop and read Wil's new story "Grandpa Hopewell and his Flying Tractor" in the Mar 17th Post. Do you get our magazine there? Love to You Mother Thur A.M. at 9 - Dark & rainy looking & windy - I'm going out and get the ladder from the garage and wash your walls before I start to paint - More love B.P.F. Is Jay's new place as large as yours?
