Thursday night - May 3 - 1945 Dear Helen - My, My, what a nice day! Your three packages came from England - I had a shampoo when I first got up and was dripping slightly when the postman came - I tied a bath towel around my head and spent all the rest of the morning enjoying myself. I will report in the order opened - First I opened the package of pictures - They were bent a little but not broken - I looked them all over time & again - What lovely things they are - Guess I like the one of the sheep best - I have them between papers on your closet floor with the basket of things waiting to be sent to you, on top of them to take the bend out of them - I love the group pictures also in that package - you look so nice especially in that group of uniformed girls with Col Dyke sitting in the middle of the front row. I can locate Gen & Jay - will be glad when you can put the names on the back - I'm going to take them over for Mrs. Dyke to see if I can start early enough Tue. - Next I opened the box with the Daily Express on the top - I shall enjoy reading all the papers & leaflets. Then I came to the transfers of all those most interesting service crests - 39 of them. How many different Services does H.M. have anyway? I looked them all over carefully then put them in the box with the others you sent, in your closet shelf. (I thought the attic too hot for them) - Next came the two pairs of gloves - Did you make 'em? They are spiffy - and together with the cut out but unmade ones are in the bottom drawer in your room (the ones where the SOAP is) - Next came the little felt clip and on the lid of the box it said "wear". So when I get my new dress I'll do it. Was it made in your dept? Next came those
