on all the kitchen rugs now drying in the attic. Yesterday I cleaned in the kitchen up to one - took a bath and dressed up - took the West Union paper over to Grace Allen and saw the painting Forrest had done in their kitchen - went on over town to mail a card to John Goddard - (a card from Grace that morning said he was in the New Hampton Hospital) then I stopped at June's for her farewell tea for Mrs. English - (just Gretchen & I there). We sewed and visited for a couple of hours - am sorry to have her leave as I like her a lot - I gave her a nice box of stationery which I told her was a hint. Gretchen came home with me as she had brought me a dozen eggs (35 cents) and a box of viola plants and several forget-me-not plants - I put these last in the "point" by the front porch and the violas under the apple tree in the back yard where I had grubbed out that old rose that spread & spread and never bloomed. Aren't there bugs in England? I'd love a bugless home - maybe I'll have to more over there after all. Sunday Night Well another rainy day - It was nice, tho cloudy, when I woke up around 7. so I got up - backed the car out under your window - drained the alcohol out of it and put it in 3 jugs in the basement - washed the car - swept the garage just got the car back in when the rain came - Mr. K. brought me radishes - Between showers I cut flowers to send to Waucoma tomorrow for Decoration Day. Pansies - Wiegelia - beauty brush, peonies and but of all
