a couple dozen sweet smelling pinks from near the pool. The iris are perfectly lovely this year - tall and each stock just filled with big blooms - I'm not sending any for the cemetery lot as they don't carry well in the mail - When you get home and we have gas we'll take them up ourselves. Fran phoned but because of the rain didn't come out. She said to tell you that you could have a good job in any Hospital in the United States, that you wanted. Maybe you'd like Florida for a change - She said she had talked with girls back from India and they didn't think much of the place - She also said she didn't think you'd like it in Germany because you'd see people you liked and still couldn't have anything to do with them. She thinks China isn't bad. Well anyway stick around there as long as you are needed, then get a furlough and come home and rest and think it over before you decide. Don't get released over there for I want to strut around with you in your uniform and show you off to my new friends. Traveling conditions would be better for a R.C. gal too - Can't you look up Charles Collingwood in Paris and tell him I like him? Haven't you yet gotten box 38 with the birthday pants from Betty? There are 12 others beside that on the way somewhere. The contents may not fit your needs now but you can always give the stuff away - I packed No 51 today - it has a pecan roll in it - they get there OK, don't they? From now on I'll put in more cookies - candies & dried fruit - OK? Love to you Mother (How could Beretha send you a box without a request?)
