got home at noon - (Mary rode home with Dorothy Monday and is coming back on the bus tonight) - Mae was much excited about you & your vacation. I heard the Cubs beat Cincinnati - Found the phone was out of order so went to Betty's and called a man to come fix it - He did at once - Grace Allen came over after the ball game and brought your lovely white blouse - I like it even better than the first one - She got new buttons for it. She stayed till about 5:30 - admired the things displayed on the dining table. She brought me another banana. She also likes Caron perfume - anything but Christmas Night - Says she likes that but Forrest doesn't. I'm anxious for you to know her - We'll have around 4 months yet before winter comes - any chance of your getting home before snow flys? Its beginning to seem too long sense I saw you - No I don't recognize the man in the clipping - How could he get 35 clusters? that's the most I ever heard of. I have a date Aug 8th with Dr Nomland who took off your moles - Want to see if he can rid me of the bunches & spots that are scattered hither & yon on my mug. - This is my other kind of stationary - I like it only it seems pretty small. Will now shave my legs, then read "The DA Calls It Murder" which June loaned me. Lots of love to you from Mother (Fri. 7. a.m. have just cut down another tree back of garden)
