And now Fellow Citezens let us take a glance at some of the reasons of this our unexampled progression. And let me tell you, this is all the fruit of the declaration of our independence the memory of which we have met to celebrate The natural consequent of our freedom and independence was the establishment of a free and republican form of Government in which the people themselves were the legal Representatives, and governing element; in which every man, woman, and child was guaranteed the safety of his person, his property, and to enjoy the fruits of their labors unmolested, This gave great impetus and encouragement to industry and resulted in the greatness and prosperity with which our country has ever since been blessed
