In years gone by in the days of our unmolested prosperity it might have been doubted by some, whether our young and rising generation were as patriotic and jealous to maintain and preserve the freedom and liberties of our country as our forefathers were, But fellow citezens, the uprising, the powerful demonstrations of military deceplin and responses to the call of our government, the bravery our northern troops have thus far shown in the field of battle Shows that the same patriotic blood flows in their veins as did in their ancestors. And I say I am proud to live at a time and in a country where the people respect their rights, and are so willing to face the danger, to respond to the calls of their country in the days of her calamity, And now Stand by your country, try fully to appreciate your rights and Stand up manfully to them and never fold your hands till the last traitor of these united States shall have been made to taste the medical virtues there in a twist of hemp
