To Preserve Angelica [Cut?] the Angelica into [lengths?], put it into [cold?] water with a very small peice of soda. Then boil it a few minutes until it is tender, take it up on a dish & wipe it dry with a cloth. Be careful not to break it. Make a very strong syrup of sugar & put the Angelica into it & let it stand on the stove for three or four hours. then take it up & [strain?] the syrup
