Monday April 16th [1944] Helen darling, See how quickly I can sit down and write if I am so inclined! Besides, I know you are anxious to hear about whether I got back at all or not. Well, I did. I was in my hut at 9:15 which isn't bad, considering that you probably weren't in your room by then. An R.A.F. girl came along about 15 minutes after you had gone and, although she was going to about 3 miles from my destination, we hit it off so well, she took me all the way back. Honestly, I didn't ask her to. I simply can't tell you how much I enjoyed this last week-end. You were such a surprise. Naturally I would have enjoyed it even more if there weren't so many around so we could sit and chat. Seeing Johnny there was another surprise. My Goodness! All four at once. And such a lovely day too. I wonder if and when we will ever be able to meet again like that. We must have some sort of a reunion when we get back to the states. Or maybe Paris, huh? This is not a letter, I've already got one to the good. Its your turn, so give. Love Jay [Aronson}
