Paris 9 Dec 1944 My dear Helen - Imagine my disappointment to just receive your Nov. 26th letter yesterday! Even then, it would have been too late, but I do appreciate hearing from you. I asked at every Red Cross I hit in Eng. if they knew how I could get in touch with you, but they just looked blank! If I had known where and how I was coming I would have obtained your APO at home - (I should have anyway) - but no - Smith was too busy flustering about! If you hit the Continent be sure to look me up! And if I hit Eng again, I shall surely get in touch with you. I shall miss our annual Christmas Eve - I shall be on duty that night - but I hope you and the folks back home will celebrate it appropriately! My trip has been most interesting and valuable and I like Paris very much. Saw the Ballet at the opera Wed. Do take care of yourself & let me hear from you again! Merry Christmas! Herb
