Walnut Cookie Squares 1 egg 1 tea s. vanilla 1 cup br. sugar firmly packed 1/2 " sifted flour 1/4 tea s. soda 1/4 "" salt 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Combine egg, vanilla and sugar, stir together, but do not beat, sift flour with soda and salt stir into egg mixture then stir in nuts, spread in greased 9x9x2 pan and bake at 350° - 20 to 25 minutes. Cookies will look soft when ready to take out leave in pan and cut in squares while warm - makes 25 chewy squares.
