Cut peppers into small pieces. Mix vegetables with salt and let stand 3 hours Pickling (Syrup) 5 c. vinegar 5 c. sugar 2 tbs. mustard seed 1 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp. gr. cloves Bring to a broil. Add vegetable and cover until cucumbers begin to look clear. Spiced Cherries Alice (Fairbra....) 7 lbs cherries (sour-pitted) 4 lbs sugar 1 tsp. vingar 1/2 ounce ginger 1tsp. gr. cloves 2 tsp. allspice 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. g mace Boil sugar & vinegar. Add spice bottle in medium (....). Add fruit & cook till thick.
