on what money I have if we're paid fairly soon. If I go entirely broke I'll write for some. Could have borrowed from some of the other fellows but I hate to do that. Seems to me Roy Sherren is making a mistake not to stay with Walshes but perhaps he's saved enough to retire. While one of those joints isnt much of a business they certainly seem to pay off. Hope Baldy Weston does well there. It was encouraging to hear Bills corn is doing well, he's a good man and I too wish he had a little better wife. Has he rented any ground outside this year? We need more land to keep the number of stock we try to there and thats the best way to build up the farm I think. Heard from Bouchard of my old outfit and he gave me some bad news. Two of my friends are dead one was taken sick in camp and died within three days and the other was killed in a plane crack up in India. So it doesnt make much difference whether you're safe in the states or overseas. Felt mighty bad about it for they were both fine fellows. I think I'm quite a lot closer here than in Italy at least in an emergency I think I could get home in twenty four hours or a little more and I certainly couldnt do that in Italy. Joe Krenzeluk who went home got a plane the day he got word of his sisters illness.
