seen some rough going. You know as I look back I got in the army about the right time ratings came fast and I got a job where it wasnt bad. Just a job that I didnt care too much about it, no danger, marching etc. Probably wont get a chance to see that big asphalt lake while i'm here. All the roads around camp are black top and very good quite different than the dust, mud & bumps we had in Italy. Black top stands up well here too where there is no freezing to break it up. Had letters from Uncle Raymond and Mrs Lynch yesterday and two air mail ones from you this morning the thirteenth & fourteenth. Here there is nothing to write, in Italy there were things to write but would have been censored out. Want to go to the P.X for some tooth paste so will quit -- Love Johnny
