here are where is his [hop?]? Was just starting to chow but it is pouring so hard I guess I'll wait awhile. Just a moment ago the sun was shining bright, will probably quit before long. Had fish for chow this noon and thats never very good in the army. Didnt eat any, smelled too strong. Had a good salad tho, chopped cabbage, carrots, raisens and fresh pineapple it really hit the spot. We're having the war news on the radio right now. Im glad to get the news, for a long time after we got here we didnt know just what was going on. When talking to this native boy this morning I was surprised to learn that they had drougths down here sometimes. He said three years ago it got so dry that the grass died out and many livestock died. It's hard to imagine as thick and green as this country is now that it could ever dry out. Got my shoes back from repair yesterday, they only did a fair job fixing them up. Surely not as good as Schara but much quicker. Love Johnny
