Some time ago I read a letter in the Homestead from a man in Ark who had Settled on a homestead and it was Such a good one that I wrote him to now father about his locality Since I have received 2 letters from him he Says ther is 2 quarters near him that can be had at $374, Three Hundred 74 per quarter fairly improved Such as will raise good corne wheat & cotton fruite in an abundance he Said in his first letter that his first year he had a hard time to get through but his second he raised all the Eats he needed and feed for his stock and $754 dollars worth cotton it Seems to me that some of thes cheap lands will be a good buy for when this war comes to end ther will be a great emigration here" I would like to See Something happen that would stop high prices Some people must Suffer" We bought a cow the other day and paid 90 dollars who aught not have cost us over 40 or 50. I have one in ther yard by hersid that cost 34. 3 years ago Nig still lives and kick up his heels as usual no doubt woul be glad to Shak with you soon. We are glad to have the university Bulletin Wel we would glad to See you coming up the cinder walk and then will tell you all the rest" From Dada
