I finally cleared myself.  For my private lessons do you think Madame will take a cent?  "Mais non, monsieur, I lika to help someone to spika ver' gud the Fraanch who go to help la France."  So I try to put a little joy in her life by way of taking her away from her embroidering for recreation.  She makes a good pal as well as good teacher.  I suppose if she were fifteen years younger I'd be falling in love with her. 
Nothing very interesting looms on my horizon until as far distant as next Saturday.  Then my side-kick from Iowa City is to be here.  I plan to take him to the Minnesota-Indiana game, show him the W.W. in the cafe's and theaters, and wind up at the M.S orchestra's first "pop" Sunday afternoon.  Wish you could sandwich in between us for these affairs.  Your lustrous beauty set off by a large bunch of chrysanthemums would suhtainly contribulate mahv'lous to the splendor of the party.
