PM Nov. 24, 1917 Saturday. Dear Father and Mother: I am still in doubt about what my next move will be. Major Ferguson has yet to receive instructions from Washington as to where he shall send the statistical officers. Every other officer in the post knows where he is to go. I hope to hear in time to get to Cedar Rapids for Thanksgiving if my orders will permit my making the trip. So, that is all the assurance I can give you of the chance that I shall see you soon. I have not sent the bundle yet; so I shall follow mother's suggestion and mail it to Cedar Rapids. The closing work has gone fine. With fifteen men to help me I have handled the details so rapidly that the office work will end with the close of camp Tuesday. After the first camp it took many days' work at headquarters to finish. I'm fine; hope this finds you all the same, and enjoying a happy reunion. Lovingly, Conger.
