Nevada, Mo. Postmark Dec. 12, 1917 Extray -- jus tout. Dearest:-- Most ready to crawl into the hay but if you don't mind, I want to tell you something first. I did it. I wrote it. I wrote the letter to Ed. It's all mailed and everything and I am almost in my usual state of good natured idiocy again tonight, tho I must admit today has been awful. (This is the end of a turrible day. Horn A if you please, Mister.) The Spanish child came in to my room today and suddenly began to cry. Of course we made it a beautiful duet at once and when we had finished I inquired what had set her off. She said couldn't stand to see me looking so down in
