we had passed three I had become so fussed that I proposed taking to the other side of the street. After chatting an hour more with the Sanborns at their hotel I returned to my abode to prepare for tomorrow. My train arrived so late this afternoon that I couldn't call on anyone, so I have all the formalities to go through tomorrow. Lord, how I dread the ordeal! I shall call at the post office tomorrow although I hardly expect to hear from you so soon. Every minute is going to be hard until I do. Please, of please, honey, don't punish me for my past transgressions. I really wrote some good letters to you. You confessed yourself that at least one was a dandy. I suppose I shall find permanent quarters tomorrow
