I don't know what will happen to me if I don't hear from you soon. I'm foolishly impatient, perhaps, but it seems a long time. Here I am dropped into the midst of a whirl of interesting events, amid most diverting surroundings, with some of my best friends close at hand, and no lack of opportunities for distraction - and what do I do? Go through all of it in a kind of dream that keeps you always in my mind. "That's just a little bit" of what kind of place you occupy in my life. For much longer than I talked to the Sanborns I have now been talking to you. I shall surely spoil you writing letters like this or spoil myself. When I get down to work I'll never be able to write so much and get any sleep. Perhaps less will be better anyway. I wish I could hear you say you love me, - before I go to sleep. Perhaps I do. At any rate I know you do, and that is the big thing. Good night, my sweetheart. Forever, Yours, Conger.
