you silent no doubt.  Only my romance didn't have a happy ending.  I haven't seen him nor written to him for over two years - and I still love him - and I'll never marry him. So! 
Did you ever suspect I was the victim of a broken heart?  I am not.  Broken hearts are two melodramatic - but hearts can ache - for weeks and months - and then pretty soon one discovers that it is the same old world - only the sunshine isn't quite so bright - nor the moonlight so silvery nor the stars so near as they used to seem.  Maybe that sounds maudlin.  But it is the literal truth.  You don't know what Colorado Sun, and moon, and stars are like, but that is why Colorado is to me the land of hearts desire. 
Selah! You are the only person who knows this - this is my first confession - and I'll probably regret tomorrow that I've told you.  But you see I realize what you are
