He begins the letter "Dear Mrs. Con"-- and says he is not a bit surprised, because he knew all along that we were crazy about each other. Strange how he knew that, considering that he never met you. He is wasting his talents in little old George W. New York. I told him last summer how well I liked you but I also told him what Hy told me about the Des Moines girl and now he rubs it in about the awful case of stringing I gave him; says he knew we were engaged last summer. My! Isn't he smart.? Now about coming--I suppose I'll not be with you very much later than this letter. I'm sorry I can't come at once, but at once is rather soon. Ho! Ho! I'd like to start Friday night but that's tomorrow and I'm afeered I couldn't make it because I have to go over all the music and make out a new order. Also have some lessons to give, durn it, to my town kids. I think Saturday morning - or we'll say Saturday night at the latest - will see me on
