I want you to believe that I want only what is best for Conger, and am interested in his happiness of course, just as he is in mine. I think he told you that my Mother came with me and remained here until after we were married. Dr. James Montgomery, formerly of Minneapolis, performed the ceremony and no one was with me save Mama and Lieutenant Zimmerman. I suppose many people would consider what have have done foolish, but even so, we are quite happy fools so we don't mind. I have to be back to Cottey by the seventh of January. It is going to be hard to leave Conger but "Dienst ist Dienst" as I over heard a German soldier say upon leaving his family. One must put up with it and believe that every thing will come out right in the end. I'm afraid you'll have trouble reading this but I am having a terrific
