grateful for the letters I was permitted to share with Daphne. They were very important factors in our happy times together. Daphne has them to keep among our souvenirs of the event - all except one which I wanted to carry with me until I learn by heart that beautiful bit about the "golden mystical chain" that has drawn your baby and your new son together. 
You may be sure that I shall always be good to Daphne -- better, indeed, than anyone else, save her mother, could be. I shall not have a great deal of "worldly goods" to offer, but I'll always work hard to increase her comforts. I love her - well, with such intensity and steadfastness that I can't find words in the store accumulated so far that will express my feeling. I not usually take things seriously and hold on fast to likings formed. So I am calm in facing the future in confidence that Daphne will always be my sweetheart to me. The happiness of our honeymoon will grow richer and deeper with the years but it will lose none of the intensity of its youth. We both have the capacity to love strongly and deeply and long.
