Please convey to her my extreme gratitude for her generosity and heartiness in approving our union. I was very glad to get your telegram. It radiated good cheer. Also, it relieved the pressure of secrecy -- a dreadful thing, you know, to a man with the news instinct, particularly when it represses so good a story as I've been keeping.
