my mail. The Sanborns insist I'm to stay for dinner and go to the theater. I agreed on condition that they excuse me and supply the materials to write to you first. Being very fond of you, they readily assented. I'm going to equip myself tomorrow. I have to buy two or three tons of junk to take over for fear I can't get it over there. That long ocean voyage is going to interrupt our communications frightfully, sweetheart. You'll have to flash love messages to me and I to you by fairy wireless. You will, won't you. And I'll perform my devotions before your image every night on the way, and over there. I'll work hard and fight hard to finish the war in a hurry, so we shall not be long separated. I love you -- I love you -- I love you. Now will you kiss me? The madame and her chubby hubby are around a corner from me loving each other and saying tender things in French. Damem, how I envy them! If my honey were only here! Love to mother. And now, best girl in the world, good-bye until tomorrow. Your 'usband, C.
