You should have heard Mrs. Sanborn exclaim over your picture. "Ah, elle est tres, tres jolie," she said, "et bien gentile." It was evident she wasn't doing it just to please me. You really made a hit with her. And she is more than ever anxious to know you, as she declared at length and with much fervor in a burst of French that about swamped me. I took the Sanborns to dinner at the Constantinople last night. The place was very interesting and the odd dishes made good with our tastes.
