lunch today. I have finished (practically) my wild chase after equipment. To pack and to write a few letters is about all that remains to worry me. It's been rather trying, yet the way it has taken me around this fascinating town has been great fun. I could stand easily enough to spend a lot more time here -- if the government would raise my salary enough to pay the cost. The crowds, the buildings, the shops, the theatres,--all most interesting! I'll be writing to you every day on shipboard, and eventually my letters will reach you. During the long wait just recall every nice thing I ever said to you and all the others I might have said and know they are my daily messages to you. I will have lots of time to think then, and I shall do it recalling those wonderful times we had together. Glory, I can hardly wait for them to begin again. Begin they will, eh, dear? You know we're married. It's mighty fine. It wouldn't be right any other way.-- By the way I'm enclosing two interesting telegrams bearing on this
