New York City, January 19, 1918. Mother, dear, this is a little special letter to you to thank you for the two fine letters I have had from you since I wrote to you directly. They have been most interesting and cheering. I hope I am going to get more like them. You will hear of me through Daphne, but I shall write to you occasionally a letter of your own.
