mother will be always in my thoughts to help me be a brave and true soldier worthy of their love and respect. You mustn't worry about me even a little bit. I know you'll keep Daphne safe and happy and contented. And you must be just as good to yourself. We must all be fit for enjoyment of the happy times coming when your Johnnie comes marching home again. I love you like a good son. I hope I am that. Here's a kiss that says "Till we see each other again." Good-bye dear little mother. Lovingly, Conger.
