Jan 19, 1918 Saturday Night. My Wonderful Wife,-- There remains but one thing I wish to write to you about. That is love. It is the only thing that counts. Dearest, I am all aflame with thoughts of you. Even as I realize that the time has come when I shall not hear from you I know that the parting doesn't really matter. Love of you, powerful and eternal, will carry me through every anxious hour and every soul-trying test until the glorious moment when I shall again fold my arms about you
