To change the subject -- the silver for my birthday! It was a bit hard to become used to the idea of getting it myself, but everyone pats me on the back and says it's poifectly right and proper, and that I need feel no embarrassment about it. I think I shall die when I have to flourish that check under somebody's nose. Perhaps not, tho. Anyway, it will be lovely to know that what I am to buy will be for our own house. That idea makes it easier, and is such a wonderful comfort when I am inclined to feel your absence too keenly. Oh yes -- Yesterday the wooly Russian Hesselberg was here
