mine was written "Our Patron Saint." I'm putting it in my Memory book, of course. The idea is beautiful, tho, don't you think? The dinner was in courses & very formal, and shortly before the dessert was brought in, Mrs. Stockard left the table and went out between the two dining rooms where they always stand to make announcements. By the way -- the Seniors were seated on either side of the table, and Mama & Dean Crowes were at the foot while Prexy & I were side by each at the head of the table. (Such distinction!!) She began to speak as tho she had something very serious to talk about, which of course she had, but one girl said afterward, "Gee, I tho't maybe they'd caught me stealing." She talked a bit about the war, and dwelt on the Secret Service a good bit. Then she mentioned your visit here. There was almost a breathless silence. Then she remarked
