Aquia Creek Va. February 5th 1863 Dear Parents your favor of the 26th Jan. came to hand yesterday and why you have not received a letter from me before this time is a mystery to me as I have writen to you from Jan. 2d 8th 25th and commenced another a day or two ago but was so busy that I did not finish it but have commenced a new one. Since I wrote to you last I have been troubled with a hard cold but it is better now. Friday the 30th Jan. I went to stafford Court House to see the 9th cavalry boys but when I got there I found they had moved to some point sixteen miles further on so I did not see any of them. Sunday the 1st I made a visit to the 55th Ohio Volunteers and saw one of my old classmates J. H. Rowland who is looking quite well but he told me that his brother Sam, was wounded in the battle of Murfreesboro but not
