Headquarters Ninety Second Division Camp Funston Kansas Apr. 26, 18. Dear Reynolds: About the time your good letter was received the Huns were making some progress in their big drive towards Amiens. I showed your letter written on March 20th (the day before the drive began) to all the officers at our Hdqts. who noted your references to the anticipated "drive" and said you hoped they would so proceed, and that a hot reception awaited them. You don't realize how much encouragement you gave us. Subsequent events have verified your views, All America is rejoicing in the manner in which the Allies including our U.S. troops are standing their ground. The recent coup of bottling up Zeebrugh, a la Hobson at Santiago, only more successful is welcome news. Was very glad to hear from and of you. Your experience is enviable. Your opportunity to get to the front now and then must be splendid. Here we are jogging along as usual. St. Louis has gone to Houston Texas to be the Aide to Gen. P. A. Walf of the 66th Brigade, 33rd Div. He is very well pleased with his new work. St's going only added more work to "Yours truly." No one has been assigned here in his place. I really
