Sixty -six. April 29, 1918. My Love, -- I am desperately lonely tonight. Sure enough, I have it bad this time. The attack has been on form many hours and there is no end in sight. I want you -- I want to love you -- so passionately that my heart is aching. It is fairly throbbing with the ache. I don't know why I should be so depressed. Everything is going well on the exterior. I am perfectly well and my part in the war is running smoothly. Perhaps it is because I haven't had any letters for ten days now.
