coastal waters (bays?) - 85% of the running streams of this country are more or less polluted. Some of them once clear & beautiful are more practically only great sewers to carry away the (?) filth our industrial waste. In many of them no child can safely bath & no self (?) can live - While with drainage from the oil-bearing vessels close to our coasts our oyster beds are all being destroyed - so much our water resources (?). But we come back to the (?) because they are the foundation and back-ground of almost every kind of conservation effort - that only the source of lumber (?). With the facts staring us in the face that they are being depleted, 4 1/2 times faster than they are being reviewed, it takes no mathematician to predict the end unless some change is made two dangers threaten these - (?) that they continue to be lumbered by those who (?) (?) as a move to be exhausted and abandoned and second the ever present danger (offere?) - $20,000 - up in the smokey (?) last year. What can we go? We can chose to blame the owners of the timber lands for everything. We
