May 30 1943 Dearest: This being memorial day we had a special service for the boys that have gone on in this war and I know you did something for dad and mothers groves. I am getting along good am in the best of health, I would like to get a letter from home it has been over two months since the last. the mail may catch up with me some time. I have traveled around a lot I have saw plenty of action and came through without getting hurt at all. I have been swimming in the Med sea a few times. the days are warm and the nights are cool need a cover. I washed some clothes today they dry fast in the warm dry climate. I lost my watch but that is a small matter I am glad to still be alive We are all hopeing for the time when we will be home and the war over. Hope you have no big problems of your own. Love Lloyd
