Ft. Dodge, July - 10 - 42 Dear Frances We received your letter yesterday. I often thik of writing to you but it is hard for me to get letter wring done. It is hard for you and Mrs. Davis to have Lloyd go, but it looks now as if all able bodied men will be called I know you will miss him so much but you are strong and self reliant, always were, even as a child so you will be all right. It is good you are so well fitted to manage and I surely wish Mrs. Davis recovers from the effects of the flu when I had it took weeks before I had much strength. I think summer may be more favorable it was very cold when I had it and I lacked fresh air. When Maurice went to town to go to Des Moines he found they had given him the wrong date they went the day before (7th) so he came home and now we have him another week. The 16th is the date he goes to D.M. and I suppose he will go soon after. It is so good to have him. I have not written any of the girls lately. Will try to write more next time. I am not very well but keep going and have been able to get meals but not much else. Give my love to Mrs. Davis and remember Ii think of and love you (everyday - Mother -
