Mon nite Aug 18 1942 Dearest F - Have a cool evening here tonite, I just came in from playing horse shoe had a lot of fun all four of us were about the same. It's cloudy looks like it may rain tonite. I like to get your letters they seem to make me feel I am at home they explain everything so well. It would be tough without word from home that I could believe without a thot. There is a lot of athletics going around here tonite.
