817-19 St S.E Cedar Rapids, Iowa July 6th, 1945 Dearest, Skipped another letter writing for you yesterday. Last eve after supper I went upon Ellis Blvd to see a man about a letter regarding his daughter. I could see him only evenings. Well, as luck would have it, he had gone out. So I didn't accomplish much there! I had made plans with Esther and John to stop for them on my way way. They came over and John fixed the garden hose. Esther watched me put on the second coat of paint to the front porch and steps. Then we had coffee and cookies and it was time to call it a day. Today I had to tour around a Mr. Peterson from the U.S. office of
