817-19 St S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa July 23, 1945 Dearest, Another real warm summer day. The memory of winter weather and a cold spring are still to plain that I've no inclination to complain at all of the heat. A busy day. Don't know exactly where all the time went but now at 7:10 I'm sure its gone. I'm parked on A. Ave west of the hospital. Mrs. Hunt had her tonsils out today and I've asked Jean to stay at our house tonight. She is up seeing Mrs. Hunt now. I stood in the hall this afternoon but went no closer because I've been sneezing. I told Jean I'd sit here in Polly and write to you. Mrs. Hunt had a local and got along fine. I took Jean out to Marion to
