817-19 St SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa Aug 2, 1945 Dearest, Another letter today from my laddie. This will eventually really be a conversation by mail again. It was the one you wrote July 5 so it arrived out of order, but it was a nice letter. The picture of you by the cord wood (?) was in it. I think I like that picture the best of any you have sent from overseas. It looks so natural and like you could walk right out of it and talk. Work didn't turn out so well today. I think a doctor is going to "swipe" a baby I have plans for at a licensed agency. And Ray Rice's kids are about to be in serious Dutch. Mrs Sloan & I visited there after work. Ray has
