817-19 St S.E Cedar Rapids, Iowa August 5, 1945 Dearest, Finally I've decided what we will use for the holder for the big white candle. Unless you can think of one that you would rather have, or would be more suitable, I think we can use your childhood plate that has a picture of a deer on it. That would be appropriate for whenever you get your first night at home again, and will would not be a queer design to have if we light it every Christmas and anniversary evening too. What do you think? Those Bavarian plates with white real china and pink roses (2 of these plates exist) are old and are beautiful. They have a design and history that would be lovely for your home coming, but
