building all the time so that we have more shared things as time goes on. I am pleased you look so well, and just the same in your pictures. My faith in myself is a little restored when you do take the same reaction as I to things like travelling to see Europe. It is 32 months ago today that I saw you off at the airport. To live on paper with little exchange of conversation a good part of that time, I sometimes wonder whether I'm keeping things in the right focus and reacting reasonably and in harmony with your ideas. Your letter today restores my hopes that I'm being moderately successful. I try to be reasonable and logical. You know it is from the motive of wishing to be a good wife to you and to remain in a position of always strengthening our home that I try to be logical and act with restrain in my anticipations. You love me so much and inspire such good feelings in me that you understand what is my "public face" as compared to what my personal feelings are. If I'm loved so well and have been able to express to you my love for you enough so that you write "I think ours is the best yet" I'm indeed happy. You see lots of married men whose wives are trying to get along separated like we are. If we rate that well by comparison I am pleased. I know of no service wife here who has better feelings than we do.
